New Jersey native Carmelo "Snow" Sigona began his artistic journey as a student and creator of graffiti and street art in the late 1970's. Born and raised in the
greater NYC area, SNOW now has an immense and prolific body of work that spans four decades.
His early days were spent traversing the urban landscapes of the Northeast and beyond, honing his street art skills and developing a distinct style. He quickly established his name and style through constantly innovating and pushing the limits of his versatility and imagination.
The 1990's were the catalyst for many of Snow's famous and (infamous) creative exploits. During this extremely active decade, Snow joined several teams and projects that helped to spark his career. He became a member of the Bronx-based but internationally renowned FX Crew, an all-star squad of elite graffiti and street artists. Together they created some of the most distinguished mural installations in the history of the urban arts. This allowed him to travel and connect with artists from around the globe.
During this time, Snow was also recruited to become a part of the creative team of artists and designers at McFarlane Toys. Todd McFarlane created a well known comic book, animation, and movie hero: Spawn™. This gave Snow great industry insight and experience. His years there were spent studying set design, model making, and fabrication. He also learned the prototype design process for action figures and play sets. He traveled with Todd as a lead artist and also examined his licensing and marketing strategies. Snow was able to network with some of the celebrities and entertainment entities that McFarlane Toys had in their licensing catalog. This, along with Snow's growing notoriety in the Hip Hop community, opened the door to many new opportunities, specifically in the music industry. He also spent several years in marketing for the Fortune 500 corporation; Dun and Bradstreet. The combination of marketing and licensing would prove to be invaluable assets added to Snow's growing artistic and creative repository.
The new millennium ushered in an even stronger decade for Snow. Through all these experiences in the art and entertainment arenas, Snow eventually became a highly sought after artist and creative director for some high profile musical artists. He worked with Will Smith, Wu Tang Clan, Gangstarr, Mobb Deep, Lil Kim, and Chris Brown. Companies like Casio Corp., Holiday Inn, Google, Grey Goose, and Sony BMG were commissioning Snow's mural installation talents.
